Victor Yousif and his grandson Andre took to the street yesterday for some friendly racing now that the Bucket Wish Foundation has provided them each with the street racer of their choice. Since last spring when the we presented Victor with his racer, he and Andre have made a Saturday afternoon race tradition, taking at least three laps in the afternoon.

First Ever Wish Recipient Thanks Bucket Wish FoundationFirst Ever Wish Recipient Thanks Bucket Wish Foundation
It's been almost seven years since the Bucket Wish Foundation granted its first wish. On October 12, 2004, Joan Hagerty got the present she had always asked for but was never allowed to receive: a tattoo. "A Tattoo was always a taboo thing for a lady to get as I was growing up," Hagerty told us. "I feel like by getting a tattoo, I not only realized a dream of my own, but I was able to help women across the country to break down gender barriers!"
The Bucket Wish Foundation has kept in touch with its first recipient, and Joan Hagerty is always willing to promote the cause. In fact, Hagerty has referred 37 seniors who have truly needed a wish granted. Even more astounding, she has rallied her community in support of the Bucket Wish Foundation and raised over $30,000 to help other seniors realize their dreams.
Joan Hagerty will be honored this fall on the seventh anniversary of her wish being granted at a special dinner for all of her friends and family. To learn more about Joan Hagerty's work for the Bucket Wish Foundation, make sure you check out our website!

1960s Soccer Supporter Plays Again!
Last night at the Boca Raton Soccer Field, Lou Greenburg, a avid soccer fan since his glory days in the early nineteen sixties, had the chance to feel the grass under his cleats again. At half time during the Florida Southern Championship game, Lou took the field with his great grandson Brian's premier team for 15 minutes of field time. After the game Lou told his family and friends: "Nothing feels better than having the grass under your feet, on the attack, going for the goals"

After 10 hours of set up, the Boca Raton country club was transformed from being just another club house to a place where wishes come true. The more than two hundred people in attendance were dazzled by speeches from Betty White and Dan Marino, both new supporters of the Bucket Wish Foundation. Early end-of-year figures estimate that with the gala, the foundation will have raised more than five hundred thousand dollars this year!
